AAES Charter for the Professional Licensure Working Group
The Licensure Working Group had its first meeting in April. Most of the time was spent discussing the current state of licensure and the activities of NCEES. Other
discussions included what each member organization currently does to promote licensure and what formal positions they might have relative to licensure. The
promotional information will be used to identify opportunities for collaboration and the positions are being gathered with the intent of composing a composite
position statement on licensure that AAES might adopt. The group has also identified several other issues that will be topics for future consideration such as
continuing education, the industrial exemption, and licensure qualifications. A second meeting of the group is being scheduled for this fall.
