Why join?

American Association of Engineering Societies Value Statement

Introductory Membership

In order to allow prospective member organizations the opportunity to become involved in AAES activities, the AAES has created a temporary program involving an Introductory Membership category. The membership category includes the following:

• The maximum duration for Introductory Membership shall be two years with no renewals.
• The Introductory Membership organization may attend all AAES member functions.
• The Introductory Membership organization will not have voting rights.

Full Membership

Member Societies are not-for-profit organizations with objectives consistent with that of AAES. The members are engineering and other related societies capable of contributing to the advancement of AAES objectives.

Member Societies are elected to membership in AAES by the Board of Directors by majority vote, upon recommendation by the Executive Committee.

Engineering B.S. Degrees Continue to Climb, Set New Record

Record numbers of B.S., masters and doctorate degrees in engineering were awarded last year, according to the Engineers Workforce Commission report Engineering & Technology Degrees, 2012. A total of 87,761 bachelor's degrees were awarded in engineering, surpassing last year's record by over 3,000 degrees. Based on recent enrollment trends, EWC believes the awarding of engineering degrees at all levels will continue to rise for the next few years.
